Senior Data Engineer.

BLACKROC are seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a global technology business who will play a crucial role in designing, building, and optimising data infrastructures, collaborating with senior stakeholders and mentoring team members.

You'll be joining a newly formed team charged with owning, operating and improving mission-critical data infrastructure that's powering some of the business' key initiatives globally.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and improving data quality and pipeline performance.
• Mentoring junior data engineers and conducting thorough code reviews to uphold coding conventions and ensure high code quality.
• Optimising existing data processes for enhanced efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborating with data scientists, engineers and other business stakeholders to plan and design data infrastructure.

Key Requirements: 

• Experience with GCP BigQuery or similar
• Exposure to containerisation technologies like Docker or similar
• Strong grasp of data warehousing principles, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Some working familiarity with MongoDB, Elasticsearch or Spark
• Some production experience writing Python, Java or Scala code.
